CMA CGM migrates its entire fleet to the Malta Flag

first_imgDOI: Reuben PiscopoDOI: Reuben Piscopo The company CMA CGM, a French container transportation and shipping company, has migrated its entire fleet to the Malta Flag.Minister for Transport Ian Borg gave an update about the Merchant Ship Register at the Transport Malta Offices. There, he explained that  CMA CGM has more than 8.5 million gross tonnes registered under the Malta flag, meaning 11% of the entire fleet registered in Malta.Malta has achieved “an international reputation as a quality register”, according to Borg. He went on to explain that the Maltese Register is the largest one in Europe and sixth in the world but was the only one to make large gains in tonnage, with an increase of almost 7% in the first six months of the year.
