Xiaomi Mi A1 starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo beta build

first_imgXiaomi’s first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1, has started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo for beta testers. The build is reportedly 1104MB in size and some early adopters have noticed the fingerprint reader to be faster following the update. The beta release also suggests that the official Oreo rollout could happen before the end of the year, as Xiaomi had previously promised.The Android 8.0 Oreo beta availability will help the company weed out any lingering bugs and issues before the final build rolls out. The company last week announced it was searching for Mi A1 owners to beta test the update. The last date for joining the programme was December 11, which means users who haven’t signed up will have to wait for the official rollout now. The Mi A1 offers a stock Android experience, but does feature some of the company’s own apps including the Mi Camera app and Mi Remote app, among others.Apart from running stock Android, the Mi A1 sports a 5.5-inch Full-HD resolution display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top.
